Potable Reuse – State of the Industry & Development in Colorado

Potable reuse has emerged as one of many important options being evaluated as part of integrated water resources planning. This presentation will give an overview of the status of potable reuse in Colorado and other states and research that’s guiding the future. Impact of potential new regulations will also be discussed.


Allegra da Silva, P.E., PhD – MWH

Allegra is passionate about advancing the cause of water reuse and One Water planning concepts nationally and globally. She specializes in water reuse treatment technology evaluation, policy framework development, feasibility studies, and research design and execution, and is active in the WaterReuse Colorado professional community. She has been involved as a project engineer on water and wastewater facilities ranging in size up to 235 mgd and has helped to manage up to $30 million per year in studies. Allegra holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Yale University.
